Detailed Itinerary of 12 Days Explore Uganda Safari
Day 1: Entebbe
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe for an evening of rest recovering from the jetlag, have dinner and overnight stay.
Overnight at The Boma
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast at your hotel, you will meet your guide and embark on a journey from Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park with a stop at the crossing of the equator in Kayabwe, have a chance to stand in Northern and Southern Hemispheres and take amazing pictures. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge and in the afternoon go for a game drive exploring the savannah plains. Lookout for zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, giraffes among others and several bird species.
Later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Lake Mburo National Park
Enjoy a day in Lake Mburo National Park. With no dangerous predators such as lions, the park is the best place to go for walking, biking, or horseback safari. Moreover, this is one of the few national parks in Africa allowing night game drives, which gives you the chance to some of the rare nocturnal animals like the mongoose, hyena, leopard and serval cat.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a drive through the beautiful Kigezi Highlands, also known as the little Switzerland. Arrive in time for lunch, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at rest. Later have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Today you will have an experience of a lifetime. Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking, a senior ranger guide will take you through rules and regulations to follow and what to expect. In groups of 8 people you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, then head into the forest looking for them.
The trek takes approximately 2 to 5 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. You will stay one hour observing them play, feed, groom each other and pick fruits under a watchful gaze of a dominant silverback.
Trek back to the park headquarters, meet your guide and spend the rest of the day at rest or go for a cultural visit to the Batwa Community.

Day 6: Lake Mutanda
Explore Lake Mutanda – a beautiful place to visit with plenty of activities. The fresh water lake is safe to swim in. go SUP boarding, enjoy a ride in a dugout canoe as the local fishermen do, go on a birding trip, nature walk or cultural village walk, and finish off the day with a sunset boat cruise. Decide what to do then and there.

DAY 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the oldest national park in Uganda with incredible landscape comprising of open savannas to green rainforests, dense papyrus swamps and crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward.
Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts one of the highest rates of biodiversity of any game park in Africa.
Overnight at Marafiki Safari Lodge
Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Spend the day exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park, the most population national park in Uganda and home to the Big Five – lion, leopard, Cape buffalo and buffaloes. Explore the park on game drives around Mweya and the Northern Circuit where you will see several animals including herds of elephants and buffaloes, lions, leopards, Uganda Kobs, warthogs and several bird species among others.
In the afternoon, you will go on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel offering great game viewing, the channel hosts hippos and crocodiles which you will see in the water, herds of elephants and buffaloes along the channel and several water birds.

Day 9: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, depart to Kibale Forest, near the Fort Portal. Kibale Forest National Park is a 800 square kilometers tropical rainforest, home to 13 primate species and an impressive range of birds. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge after checking in, in the afternoon you will go on a guided walk in Bigodi Swamp Sanctuary for incredible sights of primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons and several bird species.

Day 10: Chimpanzee Trekking
Today you will explore Kibale Forest National Park, a nature lover’s paradise on chimpanzee trekking experience.
Enjoy early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee trekking, what to expect and the right to behave in the forest. With armed ranger, head into the forest searching for these playful primates. As you are nearing where they are, you will hear their hoots and you will stay one hour observing them play, feed and groom.
Chimpanzee trekking is a half day activity taking about 2 to 4 hours, after this amazing primate experience you will return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon you will go for a visit to the beautiful crater lakes lies between Fort Portal and Kibale Foret which are perfect for a swim or hike.
Overnight at Turaco Treetops
Day 11: Transfer back to Kampala
After a leisurely breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and embark on a journey back to Kampala passing through lush tea and matooke (banana) plantation. For those longing for some culture and city life after days in the bush, Kampala might be a fun change of scenery, where you will find a thriving dining and nightlife scene with a pleasant vibe.

Day 12: Departure
Today marks the end of your Uganda Safari, after breakfast at your hotel you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home or to your next destination.
