Day 1: Arrival in Mombasa City
On arrival at Moi International Airport in Mombasa, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver guide. He will brief you about the safari and take a short driver over the Nyali Bridge, and arrive at the lodge in Nyali, one of Mombasa’s most popular coastal neighborhoods.
After checking in at your lodge, take a walk on the white sands, the tide is low and local fishermen are pulling in their nets. Today you will not do too much, sip on a coconut the beach and listen to the sounds of Swahili music in the distance and grilled prawns for dinner.

Day 2: Visit the Old Town and Fort Jesus – History by the Sea
After breakfast, you will take a short tuk-tuk ride into Mombasa Old Town. Walking through the narrow, winding alleys lined with carved wooden doors, crumbling balconies, and spice shops is like steeping into another century. The air here is filled with cardamom, cloves, and ocean salt.
Visit the Fort Jesus, a 16th – Century Portuguese Fort that has witnessed centuries of battles, trade, and colonization. The view from the ramparts over the Indian Ocean is incredible, and the museum inside gives a deep insight into the culture melting pot that is Mombasa.

You will enjoy lunch at a rooftop café overlooking the harbor and try Biryani, a spicy Swahili-style rice dish with goat meat, served with tamarind sauce and Kachumbari (tomato-onion salad). In the afternoon, you will go shopping for souvenirs in the local Curio Market, where you can pick up handcrafted jewelry, batik fabrics, and wooden carving before returning back to the lodge for a swim at the beach and enjoy dinner of a seafood platter served right on the sand.

Day 3: Marine Adventure in Bamburi Haller Park
After breakfast, head out to Bamburi Beach which is 15 minutes from Nyali and take a snorkeling trip to the nearby Mombasa Marine National Park. The coral reefs are not as untouched as in more remote locations, but you will see parrotfish, sea urchins, and colorful coral formations. The water is warm and clear a perfect way to spend the morning. You can opt to go for snorkeling, this is usually done within the confine of the reef where you will get a chance to see and admire the beautiful sea turtles, corals among others while wearing breathing tubes.
In the afternoon, visit Haller Park, an ecological restoration project built on a reclaimed limestone quarry. It is a peaceful spot where you can walk shaded trails and see giraffes, zebras, tortoises, hippos and even crocodiles. This is not a typical Kenya safari, but it is a great nature escape without leaving town.
Return to the lodge, you can opt to read book a Swahili massage, a blend of local oils and slow-pressure techniques. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Full-Day Trip to Diani Beach
Today we head to Diani Beach, located about 30 km south, across the Likoni Ferry. Diani Beach is considered the crown jewel of Kenya’s coastline. set off early from the lodge and spend the whole day exploring this beautiful stretch of white sand and turquoise sea.
Diani Beach feels quieter and more upscale than Mombasa’s city beaches. Try out the stand-up paddle boarding for the first time and later join a glass-bottom boat ride that offer great views of coral and fish without getting wet.
Enjoy lunch at a beach bar serving grilled snapper and passion fruit mojitos. In the afternoon is pure beach mode with swimming, napping under umbrellas, and sipping on fresh passion fruit juice. You can hit a local seafood joint known for its octopus curry and coconut rice as you under a palm tree, watch the waves and listen to the breeze. Diani Beach is the kind of place you could disappear in for weeks and still find something new to see and marvel about.

Day 5: Departure
Today is the final day of 5 Days Mombasa Beach Holiday, go for a walk down the beach at sunrise, watching locals jog, do yoga, or gather seaweed. Enjoy breakfast, a spread of mandazi (Swahili doughnuts), tropical fruit, and spiced chai. Later, go for a cultural visit to a local cultural center where traditional dances and Swahili music performances showcase the deep-rooted heritage of the coast, even join a short Swahili cooking class where you learn how to make coconut rice and samaki wa kupaka (grilled fish with coconut sauce).
Depending on your flight details, take one last walk along the beach. There are kids flying kites, fishermen mending nets, and dhow sailing on the horizon. Your driver-guide will drop you off at the airport bringing your holiday to an end.
