Amboseli National Park Fees

 Amboseli National Park Fees : Amboseli national park is the second most popular safari destination in Kenya after Masai Mara national reserve, this beautiful Kenya Wildlife safari destination is a land of the giants where large herds of elephants roam beneath the majestic peak of Mount Kilimanjaro – the tallest free standing mountain in AFRICA.

Like other national parks in Kenya, Amboseli national park is under the administration of Kenya Wildlife Services.

Below are park fees for Amboseli national park effective from July 2022 and valid up to December of 2024.

Park Entry Fee

Park entry fee to Amboseli national park is to be paid by visitors on a daily basis and they are valid for 24 hours.

There are two types of campsites used for camping in Amboseli national park that are special and public campsites.

All tourist vehicles entering and operating in Amboseli national park are charge vehicle fees per day and they are charged according to the carrying capacity of the vehicle.

Important notes

  • Categories or status of tourists to Amboseli national park

Visitors to Amboseli national park are categorized as students, children, residents and Non – residents, these fees are used when charging park fees to each and every individual trying to access the park.

  • Students

To be categorized as students, one has to be visiting the park on a safari organized by an education institution that is college, secondary , university or institution and visiting the park for research and study purposes. Students are supposed to be aged from 3 years to 23 years.

To be eligible to student fees, the education institution is required to send a letter to Kenya wildlife services informing them about their visit in 2 weeks’ time prior to the safari.

  • Children

Children are visitors from 3 years but below the age of 18 years

  • Citizens

Visitors categorized as Citizens are individuals with citizenship in Kenya or any of the East Africa community countries that is Uganda, Tanzania, south Sudan, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo, Citizen Visitors are required to present valid national IDs and passports of their respective countries.

  • Residents

Visitors categorized as residents are foreign visitors working and staying in Kenya, residents are required to present their valid residence documents and work permits which are issued by the government of Kenya.

  • Non- residents

Visitors categorized as Non- residents are international visitors with no working permits and residence in Kenya.

Mode of payment

Visitors to Amboseli national park can make payments through cashless modes including Mpesa, Visa Cards, Mastercard and Direct deposits to KWS Bank accounts.
