History of Amboseli national park
Amboseli national park was established as a national park in 1974, initially the park was known as Empusel. Amboseli national park was first established as a national game reserve in 1906 and it was upgraded to a national park in 1974 and its named was changed from Empusel to Amboseli.
In 1991, the park was recognized by UNESCO as a Man and the Biosphere reserve
