Detailed itinerary of 5 days Maasai Mara and Samburu budget safari
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu Reserve North of Equator Line
You will be picked from Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta International airport by our safari driver and representative or at the hotel in Nairobi as early as 06:30 hours and depart for Samburu national reserve via Mount Kenya and the Equator. When you arrive, you will have an en-route game drive to the lodge, check in and have lunch. Later in the afternoon you will go for a game drive across the reserve searching for resident wildlife species such as the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx. and the Blue legged Somali Ostrich among others.
The game drive will last until the sunset then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve to Lake Nakuru National Park
Wake up early in the morning for a cup of coffee and go for sunset game viewing as they are just waking up and wandering in the reserve before the sun is hot, then return to the lodge for a full breakfast. After you will leave Samburu national reserve and drive to Lake Nakuru national park, you will have en-route lunch at the base of Mount Kenya then proceed to Nyahururu Waterfall where you will enjoy magnificent views then proceed to Lake Nakuru national park.
On arrival you will have an evening game drive as ending at 06:30 pm, you will be able to see masses of flamingoes, white and black rhino and the Roth’s child giraffe among others. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Wake up early, have a cup of coffee and head to the park for an early morning game drive in the plains of Lake Nakuru, after the game drive you will head to the lodge for a full breakfast then checkout and head to Maasai Mara national reserve. Along the way you will drive along the floor of the Great Rift Valley, arrive in the reserve in time for lunch which you will have at your lodge and in the afternoon you will go for a game drive. During the game drive you will be able to spot many animals such as lion, cheetah, elephants, and cape buffaloes among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Have early breakfast at the camp and head to the reserve as early as 06:00 am for a full day game drive with picnic lunch, you will explore the reserve until evening then return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
During the full day game drive you will be able to spot several species of wildlife including lions, elephants, cape buffaloes, rhinos, leopards, wildebeests, hyenas, elands, zebras, masai giraffes among others. Your picnic will be set at the hippo pool where you will be lucky enough to spot crocodiles basking on the rocks.

Day 5: Maasai Mara to Nairobi
Wake up early and head to the endless plains of Mara for an early morning game drive, return to the camp for breakfast, checkout and set off on a journey back to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch which you will have the hotel. Then you will be drop off either at the airport or at the lodge, the drop-off will mark the end of your safari.
