Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Serengeti and Wildebeest Migration Safari

Day 1 – Arusha to Central Serengeti

After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha or upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by our guide and after a short briefing about the safari. You will embark on a journey of 6 hours to Serengeti National Park, the name “Serengeti” means “endless plains”.

Serengeti National Park is a huge park covering about 14,763 square kilometers, it is home to Big 5 (elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, lions and leopards). The park is famous for its huge lion and elephant population, also there are impalas, giraffes, elands among others.

The Central Part of the park called “Seronera” is full of wildlife especially near the Seronera River, during the game drive lookout for lion prides and Kopjes. Big rocks where animals normally hide.

Have picnic lunch and continue exploring the Serengeti Plains. Head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – Central Serengeti to North Serengeti

Today you have two options, a relaxed breakfast and game drives starting at 9 Am with lunch on the go or an early start 6 Am for a morning game drive. We will explore the Central part of Serengeti and head North.

As we move north, the landscapes changes to hills and broken terrain, you will see zebras, gazelles, buffaloes and more. Have picnic lunch along the way and if time permits, we will spend sometime by the Mara River.

Diner and rest at your accommodation.

Day 3 – North Serengeti to Central Serengeti

Choose between a late breakfast and game drives starting 9 AM with lunch to go, or an early 6 AM game drive. After breakfast, relax a bit before heading back to Central Serengeti. The Journey takes about four hours with some wildlife spotting along the way, as you return to Seronera, the terrain changes back to grasslands. Keep an eye out for lion prices.

Have lunch on the drive and after an eventful day, enjoy dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 4 – Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Enjoy breakfast, afterwards we will have a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. The head to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a picnic lunch.

Ngorongoro Crater is a massive volcanic crater surrounded by extinct volcanoes, the crater is the world’ largest intact unfilled caldera formed as a result of the caldera collapsing on itself. The crater is home to about 30,000 animals. After a day of exploration and enjoying sights of various in the crater floor, head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 – Ngorongoro Crater Tour to Arusha

Start the day early, around 6:30 Am with a quick breakfast before descending into the crater floor for a 5-hour game drive. The crater is massive and filled with diverse wildlife, so keep your eyes and camera ready. You will see herds of elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, elephants and more. After picnic lunch by the Hippo Pool, we will descend from the crater and drive back to Arusha arriving around 6 PM. You will be dropped off at the airport for your onward flight leaving with unforgettable memories from your safari adventure.
