Detailed itinerary of 3 Days Double Gorilla Trek from Kigali
Day 1: pick up from Kigali City or Kigali airport and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park
On arrival in Kigali City at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our representative, after a short briefing about the safari and what to expect you will start your journey to Bwindi impenetrable National Park. The journey is very scenic as you will drive through the thousand hills of Rwanda and Uganda – the pearl of Africa crossing over to Uganda at Katuna in Kabale town or Chanika border in Kisoro and proceed to the park. In the evening, you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable National park
After breakfast and with your packed lunch, you will be transferred to the park’s headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. A senior ranger will take you through all the dos and don’ts while with mountain gorillas and in groups of 8 people you will head to the starting point for the gorilla family you are assigned to.
The trek through the thick forests in attempts of find the mountain gorillas takes approximately 30 minutes – 6 hours depending on gorilla family assigned to you, when you find this gorilla family you will spend one hour in their presence watching them go on with their go on with their daily lives, watch them play on tree branches and as they build nests they sleep in. you are allowed to take pictures for memory purposes and after one hour, you will trek back to the park’s headquarters to collect your trekking certificates, meet your driver – guide and head back to your lodge or head to the local community of the Batwa – the forest people for an insight in their local way of life and be entertained by local dances and drama. Have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: second gorilla trekking and transfer back to Kigali for drop-off
Have early breakfast and back to Bwindi forests for another gorilla trekking adventure, this time you will trek a different gorilla family. Like yesterday you will undergo briefing and in groups of 8 people head into the forests of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas.
You will go through the same process as yesterday and after the trek, you will head back to your lodge for lunch, then drive back to Kigali City for a drop-off at the airport for your flight back home.
