Detailed itinerary of 9 Days Masai Mara safari & Zanzibar Beach Holiday
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
You will be picked from the airport upon arrival or from your Nairobi Hotel at 08:00 am and embark on a journey of 4-5 hours to Masai Mara National Reserve, along the way you will enjoy scenic views of the Rift Valley Escarpment at the view point and have an interaction with the local people in Narok town.
Arrive in the reserve in time for lunch at the lodge, later go for an afternoon game drive enjoy sights of animals such as lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, giraffes, zebras among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day2&3: Masai Mara-Full day
Spend two full days exploring the endless plains of Masai Mara National Reserve, during the game drives you will have a chance to enjoy sightings of several wildlife including Masai giraffe, cape buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, elands, hippos, gazelles, leopards among others.
To spice-up your safari experience, you can do hot air balloon safari on which you will soar above the endless plains of the Masai Mara and enjoy aerial views of the reserve and animals. This experience is ended with Champaigne bush breakfast, then continue with game viewing experience.
You can also have a Masai Village visit to the communities of the Masai people where you will be entertained by local dances and drama, take part in grazing of the cattle among other activities on which you will learn more about their culture and traditions which haven’t changed in the last decade.

Day 4: Masai Mara- Transfer to Nairobi and evening flight to Zanzibar – Stone Town
Have an early morning game drive then return to the camp for breakfast, then checkout and embark on a journey back to Nairobi where you will arrive in time for lunch. You will then be transferred to Wilson Airport for your regional flight to the beautiful island of Zanzibar.
Upon landing, you will be welcomed by our guide and transfer to your hotel in the Stone Town and spend the rest of the day at rest.

DAY 5: Spice Farm Tour and Jozani Forest
Enjoy breakfast and head to the huge spice plantations for a half – day spice tour where you will have a visit to different farms with different spices which where introduced by early explorers as a way to expand their finances due to fertile soils, these species include cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander, pepper, ginger, garlic, lemongrass, rosemary and many more. On the experience, you will have a chance to touch, feel and smell and even taste the different spices. You will be served lunch which will be – spiced local Swahili dishes.
In the afternoon, you will go for a visit the Jozani Forest – the only forest in Zanzibar. This forest is known for being a home to the rare and unique primates including red colobus monkeys. You will take a forest walk of about 3 hours on which you will spot different primates, bird species and big mammals. After the experience, you will head back to the resort hotel and rest for the day.
Day 6: Stone Town and Forodhani Food Market Visit
Enjoy breakfast and head out for a short Stone Town tour where you will discover places like the former slave market, local markets, Christian churches, museums and mosques. During this tour, you will learn about the history of this historical town among many.
Return to your hotel for an afternoon of relaxing, in the evening you will head to the Forodhani Food Market where different traditional Swahili foods are displayed for tasting and enjoying as dinner and supper. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
7 -8: Zanzibar Beaches
Spend your time relaxing by the beach and hotel facilities, optional activities to do include diving and snorkeling, canoeing and wind surfing and excursions if you wish to see more of Zanzibar.
