Detailed itinerary of 4 Days Serengeti Calving Season Safari
Day 01: Arusha – Serengeti South – Ndutu Area
You will be picked from your hotel in Arusha after breakfast or at Kilimanjaro International Airport upon arrival by a representative of Jewel safaris and transfer to Serengeti’s North Ndutu Area, along the way, you will have en-route lunch and when you arrive in the park you will go for a game drive searching for the herds of the migration. In the evening you will head to your camp for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.
Ndutu Area is situted in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and is part of the Southern Serengeti Eco System, the area has Lake Ndutu an alkaline lake and just like other rift valley lakes, the water is drinkable that is why a lot of wildlife congregate along the shores of the lake to quench their thirst and also cool off. Most of the herds of the wildebeest migration can be found in the short grass of the Ndutu Area from December to April, the area is also home to many other animals including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and many birds.

Day 02: Serengeti South (Ndutu Area) – Serengeti Central Seronera
Have a cup of coffee and head to Ndutu Area for an early morning game drive on which you will enjoy the sunrise and predators head back to their dens after hunting and many other animals including the wildebeests, zebras and antelopes.
Return to the camp a full breakfast and a short rest, with packed lunch you will return to the park for a game drive for the rest of the day. During the game drives, you will follow the herds of the Great Migration proclaimed as the 7th worldwide wonder, you will see many babies being born, some attempting to walk and also predator action as lions, leopards, hyenas and African wild dogs try to snatch away the vulnerable newly born.
In the evening, you will return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03: Ndutu Area – Seronera
Wake up early, have a cup of coffee and head to the park for a hot air balloon safari experience. At sunrise you will your balloon will soar up in the sky and you will enjoy the spectacular views of the orange and yellow hues over the endless plains of the area. You will enjoy aerial views of the park and en eye’s view of the herds and other animals such as lions, elephants, buffaloes among others.
When you balloon lands, you will be treated to a champagne bush breakfast in the bush then do game drive for the rest of the day with picnic lunch in Serengeti Center (Seronera).
Serengeti National Park is well known for its healthy population of wildlife including the Big Five (lions, leopards, African buffaloes, elephants and rhinos) and other animals including the Great Migration, in Serengeti there are more than 3,000 lions living in the Serengeti ecosystem.
