Day 1: Welcome to Arusha

On arrival in Arusha City – the safari capital of East Africa, you will be welcomed by our guide and after a short safari briefing transfer you to your hotel. If you arrive earlier, you will go for a city tour.

Arusha is a bustling city in northern Tanzania and the main hub for those who are going to be embarking on a safari in this extensively game rich country, during the city tour you will visit the Museum of Natural History which offers insight into the country’s history, geography, flora and fauna which is an interesting experience for individuals, couples and whole family.

The Cultural Centre has a variety of typical traditional carvings, gemstones and artefacts that help to summarize the past and present lives of over 120 Tanzanian tribes and is paired well with the Maasai Market where you can get some wonderful souvenirs.

Wildebeest Migration in Serengeti

Day 2-6: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at your lodge, you will head to the incredible Serengeti for big game sightings and following the Great Migration.

Serengeti National Park is one of the world’s most famous national parks and a playground for the Great Migration of over 1,5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebras who follow the grass to and from the neighboring Maasai Mara in Kenya, the migrating herds pass through the region annually, but there is an incredible variety of wildlife resident year-round.

Your expert guides will lead you through the natural wonders of the Serengeti on exciting bush walks, enjoying the mesmerizing African sky with a spot of star grazing and experience the pristine natural atmosphere at the break of dawn on an exciting morning game drive.

Bush walks – with your guide and tracker, you will head out on foot on a walking safari, this is a unique opportunity to climb down from your safari vehicle and appreciate your surroundings. On foot you are a participant in the world for wildlife rather than a spectator making this a thrilling and unforgettable safari experience.

This beautiful camp is situated deep in the Serengeti National Park, it is a mobile camp that follows the wildebeest migration as it progress, with a preference for sites that offer easy access to key highlights like river crossings, but that are also set apart from the more crowded spaces offering you a sense of privacy.

More attention is also paid to the game viewing experience when selection this camp’s locations from month to month.

As the seasonal migration moves throughout the year across the expanse of the park, the camps will be in rotation around the key locations closet to the herds. Though reasonably predictable, herds movements are dictated by rain and tend to migrate from south in a north-westerly direction before making their way up north around September.

From here, the journey begins back to the south. Locations include Kusini, Moru West Area, Ngarenanyuki/Gol Kopje area, Kilimafetha area, Grumeti, Bologonja and Lamai.

While at the camp, the wildlife you will be able to spot include Thomson’s gazelles, wildebeests and lions among others.

Day 6-8: Ruaha National Park

Spend these final days of Classic Tanzania Migration Safari in the remote Ruaha National Park, head to the wild in the largest national park in Tanzania and East Africa, this park is visited by a few visitors allowing for a more exclusive safari experience.

The park is home to an abundance of varied dramatic landscapes, its mighty wilderness brims with vast open plains, rolling hills filled with baobabs and the park’s lifeline the Great Ruaha River.
