3 days Uganda Gorilla safari in Bwindi impenetrable national park offers you an encounter with the rare and critically endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable national park, the park hosts over 12 habituated mountain gorilla groups living in one of the oldest forests on earth covering an area of 321 square kilometers and lasting over 25,000 years.

Besides mountain gorillas, you will also be able to see other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others.

Bwindi impenetrable national park is also a home to 120 mammals, 51 reptiles, 310 butterfly species, 27 species of frogs, geckos, chameleons, 163 tree species, 104 fern species, 1000 flowering plants, as well as over 350 species of birds such as the hornbills and the Turacos!

Detailed Itinerary of 3 days Uganda Gorilla Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala or from the airport upon arrival, after a short safari briefing by your safari guide you will embark on a journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park found in the Southwestern region of Uganda. Along the way you will have a stopover in Kayabwe at the Equator, visit the a local drum and craft making community and in Mbarara for lunch.

Thereafter proceed to Bwindi arriving in the late afternoon, check into your lodge, relax and in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking- Bwindi Forest

Have early morning breakfast and head to head to the park’s headquarters for briefing about mountain gorilla trekking experience and how to act while in the presence of mountain gorillas. You will also be divided into groups of 8 and be assigned a gorilla group to trek, then trek into the jungles of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas which takes about 2 hours to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent the previous nights.

On meeting the gorillas, you will spend one hour in their presence while watching gorilla babies playing on trees, watch silverbacks feed them among others. You can also take pictures as long as your flashlight is off, then after you will head back to your lodge for an evening of resting. You can also decide to go for a local community encounter in the Batwa Community, during the visit you will be exposed to their local way of live, be entertained by dance and drama among others.

Day 3: Departure back to Kampala

Have early breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on your journey back to Kampala driving through rolling hills with terrace. Have lunch in Mbarara and proceed to Kampala, on your arrival you will be dropped off either at your hotel in Kampala or at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight.
