Day 1: Transfer from Kigali-Rwanda to Bukima-DR Congo
after breakfast at your hotel in Kigali or upon arrival at Kigali International Airport you will be picked up by your guide, you will be briefed about the safari and what to expect and then go for a short Kigali City Tour visiting the Genocide Memorial site where you find and learn a lot about what transpired during the horrific 1994 Rwanda Genocide.
You will have lunch and transfer to Goma in Congo on a drive of approximately 4 hours and additional 2 hours drive to connect to Bukima in DR Congo, you will arrive in the park in the evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking -Virunga National Park
Have early breakfast and drive to the park’s headquarters for briefing about mountain gorilla, the briefing is conducted by a ranger who will take you through the dos and don’ts while in the jungle of Virunga national park.
You will then be grouped into 8 people, be assigned a group to trek and with packed lunch you will hike into the forests of Volcano looking for mountain gorillas, the trekking takes approximately 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Your guide knows where to find the gorillas as they be communicating with fellow rangers who left earlier to look for gorillas via walkie talkies.
When you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour in the presence of the gorillas while observing their amazing behaviors, traits, watching baby gorillas play on tree branches, female gorillas taking care of their young one and taking pictures as long as your flashlight is off. You will then trek back to the park’s headquarters and back to your lodge, have an evening of relaxing, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Return to Kigali
