DETAILED ITINERARY OF 4 DAYS RWANDA GORILLA TREKKING SAFARI
Day 1: Pick up from Airport- Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked up your safari driver guide and after a short safari briefing, you will go for a city tour visiting some of the developed markets, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site and art galleries. After lunch you will embark on a journey to Volcanoes national park which is situated approximately 80 kilometers from Kigali city, arrive in the evening, check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking-Volcanoes national park
Have breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing , the ranger guide will take you through the rules and regulations to follow during the experience and how to behalf while in the presence of mountain gorillas, you will then be grouped into 8 and be assigned a gorilla group to trek. Hike into the forests of Volcanoes national park looking for mountain gorillas, the experience takes about 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where to find them.
You will be allowed to stay in the presence of gorillas for one hour while enjoying their behavior and taking pictures as long as your flashlight is off, after one hour you will trek back to the park’s headquarters and then to your lodge.
While hiking in the forests of Volcanoes national park you will be able to enjoy views of the Virunga volcanoes, forest animals such as buffaloes, elephants and many birds. You can choose to go back to your lodge or go for a community walk. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking or optional Dian Fossey tomb visit
Have breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing about golden monkey tracking experience, a ranger will take you through the rules and regulations while on this experience and then trek into the bamboo forests looking for the baboons.
Alternatively you could visit the Dian Fossey Tomb where you will learn more about this amazing primatologist who dedicated her life to taking care of the mountain gorillas. In the afternoon you will have a visit to the local schools for a local encounter. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Kigali city tour- Departure
