4 days Uganda safari, Gorilla and Chimpanzee is a great Uganda safari package taking you on a safari adventure to Bwindi Impenetrable national park a home to the critically endangered mountain gorillas and Kibale Forest national park a home to the 13 species of primates including chimpanzees, white and black chimpanzees among others.

On this safari you are to participate in two adventurous primate activities that is gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking.

Detailed itinerary of 4 days Uganda safari, Gorilla and Chimpanzee

Day 1: Kampala- Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After early morning breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, you will depart from Kampala to Bwindi – a home for the critically endangered and rare mountain gorillas found in South western Uganda. Along the way you will have a spectacular views of the landscape which starts from the flat lands to the rolling steep hills, you will have 2 stopovers, one at the equator in Kayabwe and another one in Mbarara for lunch.

 

Proceed to Bwindi arriving in the late afternoon, check into your lodge and have an evening of resting as you listen to the amazing sounds of water flowing and birds in thick forests. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking- Bwindi Forest

Wake up early enough and with your packed lunch, you will head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing session at exactly 08:00 am, a ranger guide will take you through the rules and regulations to follow on this experience and when you meet the gorillas. You will also be assigned a gorilla group to trek and be grouped into 8 people.

Trek into the thick forests of Bwindi looking for the gentle giants, gorilla trekking takes between 2 and 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. When you meet the gorillas, you will be mesmerized by their huge size and you will have a great time watching the playful juveniles, the silverbacks and other gorillas as they feed the young ones.

You are free to take as many pictures as possible as long as your flashlight is off, after one hour, you will trek back to lodge and have an evening of relaxing or you can choose to go for a community visit on which you will learn how the locals live their lives, watch them perform their traditional songs and dances among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Kibale Forest National Park

Start your day with mouth watering breakfast at your lodge, checkout and start off your journey to Kibale Forest National park a home the a large population of chimpanzees in East Africa, along the way you will be able to enjoy the scenery in Kabale and you will have a stopover for photos. Continue to the park arriving in late evening. You can opt for an evening forest walk on which you will be able to see bush babies and many birds.

There after return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking- Kibale Forest

After early morning breakfast, you will head to the park’s headquarters for chimpanzee tracking  and how to behave when you are in the presence of chimpanzees, as you trek through the forests of Kibale you will encounter many beautiful birds and other primates such as White and Black colobus monkeys, Baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys, Grey cheeked mangabeys among others. On meeting the chimpanzees, you will enjoy watching them play on tree branches, watch them feed, feed and also see bests in which they sleep.

You will be able to take many pictures as long as you flash is off, then return to your lodge lunch, checkout and embark on a journey back to Kampala for the drop-off either at your lodge or at the Entebbe international airport for your flight back home.
