Lake Mburo national park is located in Kiruhura district about 240 kilometers along the Masaka – Mbarara Road and from Kampala, the park is accessed from Nshara gate which is 15 kilometers away from the main road.

Detailed itinerary of 3 days Lake Mburo National Park wildlife safari
Day 1: Pickup from Kampala/Entebbe – City Tour – Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and go for a Game drive
Upon arrival, you will be picked from Entebbe International Airport or from your Hotel in Kampala after breakfast. You representative from Explorer Eco Safari will give you a short safari briefing about the safari and then embark on a journey of 4 hours to Lake Mburo national park, southern part of Uganda.
When you arrive in the park, you will have lunch and in the afternoon you will go an afternoon game drive enjoying views of animals such as bush babies, zebras, elands, antelopes among others as you drive along Kigambira loop trail. Head back to lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game drive – Afternoon Boat cruise – Night Game drive
Have early breakfast and head to head to the park for a morning game drive along the Kazuma track offering amazing views of the park including the magnificent rolling hills and 5 lakes. Drive you will able to spot many animals such as zebras, elands, water bucks, warthogs, impalas, klipspringer and many other animal, morning game drive allows you to sport night creatures such as hyenas, jackals and leopards.
After the morning game drive, you will drive back to your lodge for lunch, and relaxation, in the afternoon you will head back to the park for an afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo. During the boat ride you will be able to spot countless water birds such as African fin foot, African grey hornbill, Brown Parrot, Common Scimitar bill, Crested Francolin, fish eagles, herons, Nubian Woodpecker, papyrus bush strike, pelicans, shoe bill stork, weaver birds, white winged warbler and Yellow breasted Apalis among others. You will also spot animals like hippos, 3 species of otters among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Nature walk, village walk, quad biking safari, horseback safari and transfer to Kampala with a stop at the equator.
This is the last day of 3 days Lake Mburo safari, you will wake up early for breakfast and head to the park for another adventure. You can choose to a horseback safari, quad biking safari, mountain biking or walking safari.
Lake Mburo national park is the best place in Uganda to do a guided nature walks in the salt lick area where you will spot zebras, impalas and other animals. On the horseback safari helps you to get close to animals while on the back of a horse. You can also do fishing, visit the local community on a village walk heading to the Enyemembwa center, you will have an encounter with the local Banyakore herdsmen with their unique long horned Ankole cows.
After lunch you will checkout out of your lodge and embark on a journey back to Kampala for a drop off either at the hotel or at the airport for your departure flight.
